I love photography, specially macro and landscape. There is no other feeling when you get to the location before the sunrise… when everything is still dark and you get the sense that you are the only one there.

This photo has a story behind it, like all the others. I remember the reason I ended up at Baltimore Harbor, but I won’t go into the details. Instead I’m going to tell you what I remember about this photo.

I remember the golden hue of the water as the sun started to peak. I remember the dewy morning and seeing when the sun finally broke the surface...that’s when I took the photo.

I remember the runners and the early morning risers that fed the birds. I witnessed how the pier changed and became alive when the working hours began.

I can't say I know all of Baltmore, in fact I haven't venture too far away from the pier, so if you know any spots I can photograph, let me know.

But Baltimore Harbor and the surrounding areas are worth visiting. There are some hidden treasures within the pier that I discovered that day.

Antigua Guatemala

A small town with colorful colonial style buildings surrounded by volcanos is one of my favorite places. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a few times yet is never long enough to fully explore its culture, art and architecture.

The photo showcases the most iconic landmark to photograph El Arco de Santa Catalina and behind is the enormous Volcan de Agua.

The Arch was built in the 1690’s and it served as a division where the Convent of the Virgin and Convent of Santa Catalina resided in one side in isolation from the rest of the public and taught at a school in the other. Most of the structure suffered severe damage during the earthquake in 1773. The clock was added in 1800’s and according to my research, needs to be wound every three days.

If you ever have a chance to visit you should do it during Semana Santa (Spring Break) to enjoy the culture to the fullest.
